ICMART Science Award
The ICMART Science Award in Acupuncture and Related Techniques is the main award of ICMART, which will be presented at each ICMART Congress. It recognizes an outstanding scientific contribution in the field of acupuncture, TCM and related techniques. Submission requires innovative and excellent scientific projects either in basic research or in clinical research.
Instructions:
To qualify for this award, please submit one scientific manuscript either published or accepted for publication in an indexed peer-reviewed journal during the previous two years. The manuscript should be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae of the nominated authors and a one-page statement in plain English for the general audience describing why this scientific work should be awarded. The award-winning manuscript will be selected by an independent committee composed of members of the ICMART Scientific Chapter upon the following criteria: a) innovation, b) level of relevance and c) scientific rigor.
The ICMART Science Award is presented at the upcoming ICMART Congress. Preconditions for the payment of the award are physical presence of the awardee at the designated award ceremony and an oral presentation of the research project in one of the congress sessions. ICMART Science Award.
Young Scientists Awards
ICMART invites emerging researchers to be recognised on the global stage through the Young Scientist Award. Four awards will be granted, each providing 500 EUR and complimentary entry to the ICMART Congress. The programme highlights outstanding scientific contribution and future leadership in medical acupuncture.
Introduction to the ICMART Young Scientist Award
The future of medical acupuncture depends on bold ideas, rigorous inquiry, and the curiosity to challenge what we think we already know. The ICMART Young Scientist Award celebrates exactly that spirit. This is an invitation to earlycareer researchers and clinicians who are ready to contribute fresh perspectives. The award recognises research addressing any topic related to acupuncture, TCM or related techniques. All submitted research papers compete for one of four awards available each providing 500 EUR and complimentary entry to the ICMART Congress.
Receipt of the award is contingent upon the awardee’s attendance at the award ceremony and the delivery of an Oral Presentation of their research project during one of the congress sessions. All applicants are required to register for the congress. Registration fees will be reimbursed for the award recipients.
The submitted research papers will be judged upon the following criteria by the ICMART Award Jury- composed of members of the ICMART Board:
- Scientific rigor, the project should demonstrate scientific rigor with a clear, sound, and appropriate research methodology
- Innovation
- Level of clinical and/or scientific relevance
- Contribution of the applicant to the research project.
Research papers submitted but not accepted for the Young Scientists Award will be considered for oral or poster presentations at the ICMART Congress.
Instructions:
- Submit an abstract summarizing the research project together with the full manuscript.
Clarity and Structure, the submission (abstract/manuscript) should be clearly structured (e.g., Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion) and well-written in English. - Applicants are required to upload a brief curriculum vitae of the nominated authors
- Submit a one-page statement in plain English describing why this scientific work should be awarded.

Poster Awards
All posters accepted for presentation by the scientific committee of the congress will take part in the competition. Poster awards will be presented during the Poster Session, where awardees will be asked to give a 10 minutes presentation of their paper. In case of absence the respective award will not be attributed.
An independent jury will evaluate all poster presentations according to the following criteria: a) Scientific excellence (all fields of research), b) Innovation, c) Clarity of presentation (visualization, structural logic), d) Understandability.
